WHAT IS BIT LOCKER AND WHAT IS ENCRYPTION?

What is Bit Locker?

Bit Locker lets you encrypt the hard drive(s) on your Windows 7 and Vista Enterprise, Windows 7 and Vista Ultimate, windows 8 all flavors, Windows Server 2008 and R2 and windows server 2012 and R2.Bit Locker is very strong to protect your data in  even the computer is lost or stolen.  Bit Locker protects your hard drive from offline attack.  This is the type of attack where a malicious user will take the hard drive from your mobile machine and connect it to another machine so they can harvest your data.  it is very good feature from Microsoft as if you want to hide your important data from others then you can ency crept your hard drive and take a sigh of relief  about this worry.

NOW i will show you how we can configure there steps to protect our data.

First of all:  Go to Control panel of your machine for this go to settings and select control panel

After that a windows of programs will appear and then choose Bit locker drive encryption

when you select Bit locker a new window will appear which show you the drives for encryption and select a drive which you want to encrypt.

Now choose a strong password to unlock your drive.

Next option is very very important if you forgot your password and through this recovery key you can open your encrypted drive, and if you lost your password then you will be unable to access your data there is no way no access.

Now choose the option how much of your drive you want to encrypt.

Now select the option start encrypt.

When the encryption will complete a successful message will appear then click close and restart your system and the settings of Bit locker will be applied now.
